FAQs

Q: Why do you have so many server locations

A: There is a couple of answers to this. Firstly, it give you a choice of where you want to exit on to the internet. This means you can appear to be a local of the location you select. Secondly, you can choose a different location if the first location is too slow.

Q: My connection is too slow today but it was fine yesterday

A: Even though our servers are located in data centres with 1GBit or 10GBit connections the internet is a very fluid place. If there is a problem somewhere on the internet, all the traffic may be routed a different way. This means that if you have to cross over this busier route then your connection will be slower. Another good reason to have several locations to choose from. You can select another location and it will be fine. You can try your original location again the next day, sometimes even a few minutes later and it will be fine.

Q: Why is my connection faster with the VPN turned on

A: This can be because your internet service provider is using throttling traffic on their network. This is where they prioritise certain traffic over others. This is typical for home broadband services so that businesses are prioritised during the day. Using the VPN (typically a business function) you may be by-passing your internet providers throttling.

Q: Why is my connection slower with the VPN turned on

A: This is normal. Without the VPN your traffic will flow from point A (You) to point B (the website) directly. With the VPN turned on you now flow from point A (You) via point C (VPN termination) to point B (the website). Your traffic is travelling further. Also it is encrypted which adds a small amount of time to decrypt on both ends. Our servers take care of most of the work and are connected as super-fast connections so the operational overhead is minimised. If you find one location slow then try another one to see if it is quicker there. Simple VPN is so fast in fact that you should be able to watch Netflix from almost anywhere. Issues near to you may sometimes make it difficult though. Try a different location or try reconnecting to get connected to a different server in the same location.

Q: What speed are your servers connected at?

A: All our servers are connected on at least 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps ports.

Q: Can I use P2P and Torrents?

A: You can connect to any of the servers and use them for P2P and torrents.

Q: Do you keep logs?

A: Our VPN servers do not keep any logs at all. We don’t keep logs as a general rule. The only record that you had VPN access is your store account. In there is a record of your username and the date you purchased it and when it expired. We have to keep some accounting records for legal purposes but your VPN username is not one of them. Once all invoices are paid and the product has been cancelled or expired you may request that the username be removed from there also.

Q: What protocols does the Simple VPN system support?

A: We support Openvpn UDP/TCP, IKEv2, L2TP/I7Psec, PPTP.

Q: What is the Remote ID and Local ID for IKEv2?

A: The Remote ID is the server address and the Local ID is the vpn username.

Q: Is your service secure?

A: Yes, our vpn servers are fully encrypted with the latest protocols.

Q: I would like to exit in a specific location, how can I do that?

A: We are adding servers all the time to our system. If you would like a specific location, let us klnow and we will see about adding it.

Q: Do you have any rewards for recommending a freind?

A: We are actually working on that at the moment. For now, if you recommend someone and they take up a subscription we will give you 6 months half price on your subscription, and they get three months half price for themselves.
